Anyone know of a program that lets you rearrange the buttons on your taskbar in XP? In work I have a load of different programs open and I like them in a certain order. If I accidentially close one them its shifted to the end, but say outlook I always like to be on the left. i found one called "ButtonBoogie" but I can only find it from PCmag.com and they charge you to download it.

Also, I recall seeing a setting you change in the registry that lets you change the width of the size of the buttons, so you can make them smaller, anyone know how to do this?

    Thanks.

Sorry for the obvious comment but did you try locking the taskbar?
I keep ALL my desktop icons on my taskbar and have them arranged for my needs....they never move upon opening or closing.
I can only make them small or large...so that's large then...

yeah I know I can do that but I actually want to make the default size/width smaller.

    in the registry:

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics]

set the minwidth value (if you don't have it, create it) to -300. it might be slightly different, depending on your vs.
