Hi - just wondering if anyone knows any companies that rent gaming machines in the Galway area. I'm looking for a short term lease as they are to be used in a short film I'm making.

    Any help greatly appreciated.

Yup. It's slot machines I'm looking for. Gambling machines. Pokey machines as they're called in Donegal.

Anyway - it was a long shot. Thanks anyways.

Surely one of the places out in Salthill does rentals ? And even if they don't if you rang around a few of them someone working there could tell you where they rent theirs. Also I think i saw listings in the golden pages for that sort of thing before.

Why not do the filming in an arcade hall?

Wish we could. Unfortunately none of these places want to see a camera next nigh or near their premises. Even at night when they're closed. We've pleaded, begged, bribed - still no luck.

We're trying to track down games machines from all over - hence me asking here. None of the places in Salthill rent, although we may be able to borrow some from one of them.

Anyway - as always, any help appreciated.

you could try the ARC in Salthill, they would be closed this time of the year and always want to make a few bucks.

Seapoint use to have loads of old machines out the back not sure if they still do. (although seapoint has a balcony over looking some of its game would be the perfect spot I would think)

Also try that place out in quinnsworth across from the cinema.

Also try what use to be the silver doller (dont know the name of it now)
across the road from O'Connors in Salthill.

Or get with the times ;) and use a modern gaming place like Clan Net Games on Dominick St (PC Games)

Thats all I can think of right now

Ok , just thinking about your problem.

I ran a casino night for our S/s club a few years ago. we where able to get some Pokey machines from them as well.

Might be worth checking the yellow pages for the galway area see if you can rent 1 for a few days ?

    anyway hope that helps =)
