hi i think this show has been on before but i just caught episode 1 of it the other day for the first time and my god i thought it was excellent! To be honest jamie was like a parody of himself but what really made it was the head lunch lady at the school. She sounded irish and is a total star! I was in knots laughing with her especially as she chased jamie out of the school and seeing the look on her eyes as she tasted the soup at 15. hee hee!!!

    Check it out!

Saw it for the first time last night. Thought it was fantastic. Cant believe the attitude of some kids though, one of them wouldnt even try a tomato!!!!!! for a hundred quid!!!!!! and parents handing in mcdonalds over the fence to their kids, bloody disgraceful!

Yeah been watching this on the reruns at 11.10 since Monday/Tuesday(?). Good show...well done to him. It was nice to see the positive news on British school lunches coming out of this.

aye, was a real eye opener, but also lets not forget Irish parents are just as bad as those that were featured on the program - if only someone would get a camera and embaress them

My daughter's school has put a ban on all fizzy drinks, sweets, chocolates and crisps - atleast in some way trying to make sure the children get a healthy lunch instead of the usual crap. It is all too easy for parents to give their child money and say "get your own lunch" - and money to most children equals sweets and loads of them too.

I thought the kids trying to identify the vegetables was fupping great.

Yep.. this week was my first time seeing the show and hearing about Jamie Olivers mission and i must say it s the best thing i've heard all year. If only there were someone like him involved in anti-war campaigns, famine, cleaner environment etc etc. He's so passionate and just wants to get sh*t sorted.

Its a really fantastic piece of tv as well.. dramatic, funny, tense, informative etc. Loves it, innit!

Going by my expierience i never had a school dinner because the school had no canteen, just wondering do the majority of primary schools have schools dinners or was it just my school in Dublin? btw great show

As far as I know Irish schools in general don't do school dinners in the same way that English schools do. I know we got milk and breadrolls in primary school but thats it. We had a canteen in secondary school but most people brought in a packed lunch.

Some kids in my brothers class have 3 or 4 packets of crisps each day for lunch...
