    Hey all,

A post by Memnoch in another thread got me thinking, I was wondering what if any, Mods, Addons and Scripts you use.

I know there is a lot of different one's out there, from gathering scripts to auto heals but I would still like to hear what people here use, are there any you cant do without !

If we find that a lot are in use gererally we also might be able to stick them all under one thread for us all to use.

I use the hunters pet auto-feed addon.

    http://www.curse-gaming.com/mod.php?addid=189

it automatically feeds your pet if your pets happiness drops below a player defined setting. very handy. There is a TOC with a list of foods(modifiable) and it checks your backpack for the appropriate food. It cuts down on the micro management if your a hunter.

I'll post some later, I have a load of mods that I use, probably easier just to list the addons folder :)

    edit: here's the list...
    [.] [..] [AIOI_LootLink]
    [AllInOneInventory] [AlphaMap] [AuctionIt]
    [AutoBar] [AvgXP] [BottomBar]
    [BuffTimers] [Coin_Caddy] [CombatStats]
    [Dragons_Fire] [DynamicData] [DynamicDataAction]
    [DynamicDataEffect] [DynamicDataItem] [DynamicDataSpell]
    [EasyMail] [Enchantrix] [Enchantrix.nopatch
    [FixPOI] [Gatherer] [Gryffon]
    [ItemBuff] [LootLink] [MapCoords]
    [MapNotes] [MobHealth] [MonkeyQuest]

I think using mods would take some of the fun out of the game does no one agree?

No, I totally disagree. I use addons to well, add to the game - to make things that might otherwise be annoying into things that don't piss me off.

    For example:

I'm a warlock. I use ShardTracker to keep an eye on how many soul shards I have. It lets me create, use, and trade, healthstones + soulstones + spellstones without needing to add more buttons to an already cluttered interface. It lets me know when my soulstone runs out, so I quickly can tell how long I have left before I can/need to recast it.

I'm also an enchanter. I use enchantrix to see what I can possibly get from disenchanting green and blue items that I come across. Using it I can tell whether it's worth disenchanting or if I'm better off selling the item to a vendor or on the AH.

I'm also saving up money for some nice stuff. I have lootlink installed that lets me see the vendor prices for things that I've sold before, so I know how much the stuff in my inventory costs and how much I can get for it. It also lets me look up the stats on prettymuch anything that I've seen, item-wise, if I need to.

    Addons are good, mkay?

Monkey Mods rock. Monkey quest is best quest tracker I've found and the clock is quite nice, moveable and can turn border off.

Get the MonkeyBuddy addon to control them all (you can download a pack) because the options are great, save command lining them in.

What do blizzard have to say about stuff like this ? I dunno what to think about it, is it not considered cheating in a game like this ?!?

Afaik Blizzard allow these things but they are keeping a close eye on them. If they feel any of them give an unfair advantage to a user then they change the code a bit at game updates so it is unusable. I cannot remember where I read this.

They use the WoW scripting engine that was designed so users could create these sort of things. There's a sticky reply from Blizzard saying their use is not cheating on the US (perhaps also EU?) forums as this question pops up constantly.

As Joe said, Blizzard also keep an eye on the community and ensure that they don't provide scripting functionality that can be abused. For example you can't even cast 2 spells/actions in the same macro to prevent botting and they considered the ability to having ranging mods unfair and removed the necessary functionality from the engine.

On the other hand, the latest patch added extra action bars and a quest tracker which are ideas straight from community UI mods. Seems like Blizzard are happy to incorporate mod makers ideas into the WoW executable itself.

Blizzard also asked that the Cosmos /goto x,y command was removed (which it was), though one could wonder whether some of the automatic healing stuff should be legal. Regardless, there's too much useful functionality out in the community to miss out...

    I dunno.

I use enchantrix and that resource tracker. I had Cosmo but since the patch I am happy with the interface options Blizzard provide so I dont use it anymore. These I see as additions to the game. Soulshard tracker, grand dont use it but I probably would if I had a warlock :)

A script to take away the micromanagement of your pet, so basically you get the benefit of having a pet with none of the drawbacks? doesnt that upset the balance of the classes?

A script to automatically feed you a potion if you hit X% of your health... so it's not actually the player that is good at PVP, its a script that saves his ass (no offense to the poster who uses it, it's jsut my opinion). Why not a script that automatically attacks and harvests resources for you. Hell, why not have one that plays the game except when you want to take over for the fun bits....

I like enhancements and helps but I dont agree with automations.

Being a hunter myself it wouldn't be the same if the computer took care of you pet for you. After all, i've had my bear from level 10 and it wouldnt be the same if he eat from a mechanical hand and not mine! At the moment I have no extra's on at all. Plain WoW. Although I did use cosmos up until the latest patch, but the only things i miss since the uninstall are the clock, the way it tells you the price of loot already sold and the "autoloot" function. So i may look into them option in other mods.

Cosmos + a small collection of other mods I've picked up which I use to pull stats for the guild site.

Actually, over the last day or so I've been paying a lot of attention to my DPS meter (nurfed comes with one built in).

I switched my character build over from an Affliction warlock to a Destruction build the other day for an instance, and it's interesting to see the extra amount of damage that you can do. e.g. I think I was getting about 50-60 DPS as affliction, and I'm hitting high 70's to low 90's with the destruction build :D

Might as well use the succubus too for extra dps since with a destruction build you will be tanking anyway.
