Dominican Republic in June

Hi. Myself and my boyfriend are looking at holidays in the Dominican republic at the end of may beginning of June in some of the all-inclusive resorts. I was just wondering has anyone else been out there and would you have any advice? The other thing is that I have heard that June to October is Hurricane season and needless to say I don't fancy getting stuck in the middle of hurricane or a tropical storm but maybe I am worrying for no reason. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks

Don't go in June. I went in March and the weather had already started to change. The all inclusive resorts are quite good but not luxury. I stayed near enough Santo Domingo-the captial-and I wouldn't advise it. I have heard that Punta Cana is great so it'd be worth looking up. Try the website tripadvisor.com-people submit reviews of any resort worldwide.

I've stayed in Punta Cana and it was lovely. We went in October and the weather was dodgy....still got a great colour but there were a few days where it rained.
