Bluetooth Headset & My Laptop

    Does anyone have any idea about the compatibility/possibility of using a bluetooth headset (Motorola HS820) as a bluetooth headset for a softphone application on my laptop, running Xp with all the latest updates

    I have this set up and can hear the people I am calling but cannot adjust the microphone volume (greyed out when I select the recording device as 'bluetooth audio') so they can't hear me or the quality is too poor to be able to hold a conversation. I presume this is the bluetooth driver, but can't find any updates on the web for my microtune bluetooth dongle..?

    Any ideas?

    Open sound control (where you can adjust the volume for all the devices). Select the advanced tab under microphone, there should be an option to boost microphone.
