Syringe ink refillers

I have a Lexmark Z53 printer. When the ink was running low I decided to try one of there just-refill trial kit which refills black inkjet cartridges. With the ink you recieve a syringe to pump the ink from the bottle into the cartridge. I did everything exactly as said on the instructions but after a few days my printer stopped printing any ink on the page, as if it had run out. The cartridge has some ink left in it before it has been refilled (apparently recommended) and I reckon once that original ink had wasted it stopped printing.

Has anyone had this sort of problem with these products? Anyone got them to work perfectly? How?

    Thanks

I have a Lexmark X83 and I had the same problem. I even bought some cartridge flush to clean the insides of the cartridge but with no results.

there is a theory I've heard that some cartridges have a "fuse" type of thing that blows once so much ink has been dispensed so that no matter if you refill they won't work any more. not sure if this is true or just conjecture, might explain what you guys have seen happen though.

    http://www.inktec-uk.co.uk/refill_videos.htm
this site has some good vids on how to refill cartridges , if you can find an inktec kit buy one as they have the extra bits for a first refill , after that if you need more ink , use the tesco ones 5 or 6 euros a go and good quality ink , the only prob with refilling is you have to refill before the cartridge is empty because if you try to print with an empty one the printhead burns out and u then have to buy a new cartridge
