Werd Defeats Azuregos

Azuregos the new raid dragon spawned on blade fist earlier today and within a couple of hours was defeated by a brave group of adventurers from Werd.

We are sad that we couldn't be the first on Europe to make the kill, but unfortunately it only spawned for us today

Anyways, we got 2 epic items (one for me - leggings of arcane wrath) and some other stuff.

Were gonna try Kazzak tonight, though we prolly won't kill him yet.

we have started to get keys for Onyxia though we aren't really too pushed about her at the moment but will give her a PROPER go at some stage. We have been building our guild getting the peeps we need to do MC. We got our first two ppl to finish their BLUE class sets. A shaman and a warlock, the only two on the server with a full set, which is pretty cool.

Gonna prolly give MC a first shot this friday. Will mainly be to wake ppl up to the reality of what REAL raiding is like when we wipe on the first pull in MC

we took down Kazzak at the weekend, dropped some nice loot

we are progressing well in MC too (me and Funky), the group we raid with are up to majordomo, and hopefully soon enough onto ragnaros

onyxia isnt a touch on golemagg, the guy must have one million hitpoints

kazzak owned us pretty badly, though part of that is because we didn't even have a full raid group of level 60 ;( had a good few 55+ (since there aren't that many 60s on EU servers yet). Also a lot of our guys had crap loot.

+kazzak is psychotic with his curses and magic and self heals. One death in group means u loose the fight as he healed himself like 25k hp from it.

But after getting wiepd by him a good few times tonight and getting him to like 30-40% a few times we've learnt a lot about the encounter, so hopefully he will fall for us tomorrow.

What REALLY annoys me about him though is that in order to beat him and have any chance to beat him u need to use automated scripts such as cqcure. That's just a joke really tbh!

Yeah the curses are the real killer in this fight, I dunno about everyone needing CQCure though, sure it'd help, but a curse and magic dispeller in every group should be able to handle it manually too.

I'm not positive how he works, one person told me you have to take him down in under 7 minutes or he goes into anti-zerg mode in which he starts shooting about 100 shadow bolts a second at the raid. Another told me he only does that if you do too much dps to him(first time we tried was with the Onyxia buff so mages had like 10% extra crit chance). I wasn't there the day we beat him so I'm not positive what strategy was used.

well we learnt a lot of things about kazzak last night.

but the two main ones are his "curses" + supreme mode.

he has 2.

1. is a MAGIC effect so can be cured by priests (or paladins) if ur alliance. This effect heals Kazzak for 25k HP everytime he attacks someone with it. THis is insanely overpowered. Esp in cases where he puts the magic effect on you, and then does his aoe shadow bolt nuke that hits everyone for 500-700 damage (if u got shaddow resist). So basically if ur unlucky u only have a FEW seconds to cure it other wise he self-heals. So it has to go in 2-3 seconds. Priests already have enough to concentrate on keeping their group alive, so it's hard to also get rid of this effect in that time.

2. Is a curse effect that can be removed by mages called "Mark of Kazzak". What this does is put a curse on casters that depletes their mana. Once their mana hits 0, it explodes and hits everyone aroudn them for 6k damage. If this hits you it's a wipe also. Esp on classes like hunters and shamans you have very little time from when the curse is cast, to when it needs to be cured.

Add on top of that his "SUPREME" timer. You gotta kill him in 3-5 minutes or he goes SUPREME and basically kills you all in seconds.

on top of that every time he kills someone he eats their soul and cures himself for 75k hp. So u cannot afford any deaths while fighting him either.

Not an easy fight by any means till u learn all the tricks, and i think we are still missing one or two.

it's also the most easily griefable encounter in the game. All you need is one or two morons from your own faction who want to "watch" or "help" to run in and die and give him 75k HP to ruin your efforts.

.. I was quite happy rotting in my pit living my out my days in solitude, just me and worm buddies untill some hughmans came along and dug me right up blabbering on about new roads, progress and the dead staying dead, left me homeless ! and not a bother on them.

...as for the stink, well .. yeah, you got me there I do kinda smell a bit
