Have partition magic 8.0 and its great but some of the HDD's wont respond. Wondering is there any other good ones around.

Barts Bootcd, You probably have heard of it, has all the tools that you are looking for, there is another one called ultimate bootcd aswell. If you want to test the drives for physical errors, most hard drive manufacturers have dos tools available on there websites.

Yeah I used it before when I was doing something similar as yourself. Avast have bought it off him and are bundling it with a anti virus scanner which comes in handy.Havn't tried it myself yet but you can download it here http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_bart_cd.html

Here you'll get a 60 day trial, you have to register and it will take about 12 hours for them to get back to you. They'll send you the download link and a file called license.zip. Have downloaded but as yet not tried it. Good look with the pc's anyway.
