    Full card.

Chalid "Die Faust" vs. Yukiya Naito
    Shungo Oyama vs. Valentijn Overeem
    Ian Schaffa vs. Kazuyuki Miyata
    Caol Uno vs. Joachim Hansen
    Genki Sudo vs. Ramon Dekker
Gary "Big Daddy" Goodridge vs. Alan Karaev
    BJ Penn vs. Lyoto Machida
    Heath Herring vs. Sam Greco
    Bob Sapp vs. Kim Min-Soo
Jerome Le Banner vs. Yoshihiro Akiyama

    Penn v Machida.

BJ Penn steps back into the ring against a native 220lber in Machida. Machida has delivered world class 185lber Rich Franklin his only MMA loss in his career. He is definately no slouch. On the other hand, we have BJ Penn - A Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu world champion and a former UFC WW champion.

Penn started off his MMA career fighting in UFC's 155lb division knocking out his first 3 opponents including highly skilled Din Thomas and MMA lightweight veteran, Caol Uno (in a quick flurry knock-out). After his only ever MMA loss by decision against Jens Pulver, BJ came back on a roll defeating BJJ black belt Matt Serra and defeating the now #1 155lber in the world, Takanori Gomi.

Penn then shocked the world with his announcement to move up to 170lbs.. The shocking part was that his first at 170lbs would be against UFC WW champion and up until that time, a near indestructable Matt Hughes. Hughes was on a 13-win streak and had defeated jiu-jitsu whiz, Carlos Newton on 2 occasions, asian sensation Hayato Sakurai, undefeated Sean Sherk and the current #1 UFC WW contender, Frank Trigg.

Penn would go on to walk straight through UFC WW champion, Matt Hughes and would then go onto fight muay thai specialist & Bas Rutten Protege, "Bang" Ludwig and defeat him. The UFC camp were not happy that their WW champ - Penn was fighting in another event and immediately cut ties with Penn ending their relationship.

Penn would then shock the world again in his MMA comeback fight moving up to 185lbs fighting brazilian sensation & BJJ black belt, Rodrigo Gracie. Rodrigo was the next sensation of fighters taking up the Gracie name to promote his career and defeated highly respected, Hayato Sakurai. Rodrigo could strike unlike alot of the gracies and had an expected good ground game.

Nobody expected what would happen next as native 185lber Gracie went up against Penn - who had jumped from 155 to 170 and now he was moving onto 185. Could this increase in weight slow Penn down or possibly gas him out? It was not to be as BJ Penn systematically dismantled Rodrigo Gracie to win the unanimous decision.

Penn is now once again making a jump up in weight to find 220 pound Machida. Could BJ Penn have bitten off more than he can chew or will he once again overcome all odds and get another W on his record?

    Heath Herring vs. Sam Greco
    herring_profile.jpgsamgreco.jpg
Hero's have really put together a stacked MMA card here after Heath Herring made his jump to K-1. Hero's is associated with K-1 which is why the card has so many K-1 contracted fighters.

Herring was the dominant heavyweight in Pride FC for so many years until the three amigos took over the show - Fedor, CroCop and Nog. Herring knowing he could never win a major title in Pride with these three around decided to jump ships to K-1 which I believe was a good career move, considering the talent at the time in the K-1 heavyweight division.

Herring (23-10 -0) will face off against wildcard Sam Greco (1-1-1). Greco has a loss to BJ Penn's opponent, Ryoto "Lyoto" Machida via split decision and is by no means a real threat to Herring but may test the waters with him.. A W here for Herring will do wonders for his confidence.

    Rest of the card.
Coming back into action is asian showboat and one of the most charismatic MMA fighters of all time, Genki "The Neo Samurai" Sudo. Sudo will be facing off against world class kick-boxer Ramon Dekker. The bad news for Dekker is this is not kick-boxing, this is MMA. I expect Sudo to win by submission in the first round.

Also up we have the return of MMA veteran Caol Uno up against one of the top 5 155lb fighters in the world, Joachim Hansen (9-2 -1). Hansen claims wins over now world #1 Takanori Gomi and Rumina Sato. Hansen is very much expected to win this fight but you can never count the whiz that is, Caol Uno out of anything. I expect this to be a very competitive fight.

300+ pound Bob Sapp returns to mma action against Kim Min-Soo. Sapp, after his loss to Fujita is determinded to get a W back on his record, and what better way to do so than fight someone with no MMA experience? Although Min-Soo is a judo silver medalist, I expect this fight to be over as soon as it starts. Sapp by brutal beat down in the first round.

Also up we have Shungo Oyama vs. Valentijn Overeem. Oyama is an ok fighter who holds a win over Renzo Gracie but other than that has no real solid wins on his record. Valentijn Overeem is a real strong guy with great strikes and a good ground game. I expect Overeem to take this in the first round by TKO.

Gary Goodridge also makes his return to MMA against Alan Karaev. Little is known about Alan Karaev but he will have to watch out for Goodridge's heavy hands. I don't know enough about this guy to make a call but I'm confident Goodridge can win via tko.

    John O'B.

    Thoughts?

Cant wait to download Dekker Vs. Sudo.

Genki is my fav MMA fighter. He's competent and entertaining at every range.

As for Penn- not a fan. I was hoping Ludwig would batter him at Romanex. Pity!

Hmmmm, Dekker Vs. Sudo. Not too sure about this one. Can't see Dekker stepping in unprepared.
By the way, I wouldn't say Dekker would appreciate the "kickboxer" title! He's Thai through and through. Might be an interesting fight.
