Does anyone know the cheapest place to order 100 good quality (Datawrite or Ritek preferably) DVD blanks from? Often I find a place online that seems good, but then the shipping and VAT to Ireland are a killer.

    HI

    Try Mediawrite.ie

Also you can try Discangel.com I never used them so can't say how good they are.

    Regards

I've bought from Mediawrite before and they were prompt.

Unfortunatly I chose DATASAFE disks and they were VERY dusty (I blame datasafe not mediawrite).

I also bought off Komplett, bigpockets and a few other places.

BTW - when you get your disks would you be so kind as to post a message on www.brianol.com with details on the supplier you chose and the qualilty of the disks? I'm trying to set up a board to help people chose the right media.

if you are buying anything from komplett give their thats write a go 16 euros for 50 , its only worth it if you are ordering something else as the postage is 10 euros , not a bad disc for backing up movies , they work fine on my nec 3500 anyway , and i would also try mediawrite as well their postage is about 6 euros , if you want real quality for importand data , pay a little more and get the verbatim 8x or taiyo yuden off mediawrite , a little more money but worth it .

I went for www.svp.co.uk and they have always been excellent
delivery is expensive and only worth it if buying in bulk

A friend and I were thinking of clubbing together and buying 100+ dvds maybe 200. So SVP is the way to go?

As the disks will be lasting us a long time I want to get decent ones.

If I go for 8x are the Taiyo Yuden worth the money then? They seem to be a good bit more expensive.

If you are buying 200 discs then svp is definitely much cheaper.

If you are buying 100, then I think svp is still slightly cheaper then mediawrite, but the gap isn't very wide.

If you are buying less then a 100 (i.e. 50) then mediawrite is cheaper.

svp also has an excellent range of dvd cases, dvd carrying bags, dvd flight cases, dvd burners, etc. pretty much anything related to DVD/CD's and they are all very cheap and they don't add to the cost of delivery.

I have used http://www.digitalpromo.co.uk/ twice now

Delivery in two days to Ireland (Dublin) and prices are really low. Select 1/2 day courier to get it even cheaper P&P.

http://www.svp.co.uk have 1p UK delivery this weekend if you happen to have an address up north.

Came across this the other day - http://www.ukdvdr.co.uk/ - have not used, but look good too.

thats pretty expensive works out about 45c a disc with post, those are datawrites bottom of the barrel budget dvds and only 4 speed.

Check out all the other stuff on SVP postage doesnt go up until about 25kg.
They have dirt cheap cases. I got 2x240cd cases and slips and pens. Individual cases are cheap too.

SVP don't charge shipping on orders of over £300 - so if you get some people to club together and order a few months/years supply then you get free shipping.

Tried to order from SVP but they didn't have the 1p shipping offer available. Was going to get them sent to a friend in the North. Bummer.

Probably should have said, you need to spend £30
99p Shipping on all orders over £30. This will be a significant saving for many customers compared to the normal cost of our Economy Shipping. This offer is for customers from the UK mainland and Northern Ireland.
