Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    you just missed this:

    secondary dns in blackpool. http://www.dnscon.org/dns2000/index.htm

    There's also chaos camp which the ccc ran last year, dunno if it's happening this year.

    see -
    <A HREF="https://www.ccc.de/events/camp/index.html&quot; TARGET=_blank>
    https://www.ccc.de/events/camp/index.html
    </A>

    There are a bunch of misc. conferences and events listed on:
    http://www.securitywatch.com/EDU/even/europe.html
    http://www.raid-symposium.org/ looks especially interesting..

    sse seem to have a pretty comprehensive events listing as well:
    http://www.sse.ie/securityevents.html

    oh and for historical note there's hip
    http://www.hip.nl/

    2600 meets also tend to happen in dubland as well as various other european cities. Seemingly the London ones are quite a good **** up, but nothing ever really happens/is discussed at them. At least none of the ones I went to....

    There were a couple of un-official invite only 2600s in dublin a while ago, they were ok, but again they were just a **** up but kept quite to make sure the 16 year old kids playing with their vmboxes didn't turn up and get us kicked out of the pubs...

    m.

    (sheesh ubb code sucks)

    Dns con last year was essentially a **** up
    and this years doesnt look much better, and 11am to 5pm is not that long for a confrence [at least when you compare it to Blackhat Briefings]. Granted there are no subjects posted yet, but I'm guessing unless you are going for the other days as well it really isnt worth it.

    As for chaos camp, that is definately worth going to, was meant to go last year but had to work :/

    The london 2600 meetings have gone downhill
    big time recently.

    Dunno if I could be bothered with 2600 here, I guess it depends what goes on at them.

    as for the unofficial invite only 2600, guess all the 16 year olds know about it now

    Well, even if they're all reading this board, they still needed to be invited ...

    er, it was in april sometime this year, you've missed it already..

    Not much, well, that was last time I went to one. Perhaps they've drastically improved, but knowing the crowd who go to them nowadays I sincerely doubt it. The old ICBIN Dublin 2600s were far better then the "official" ones, actual interesting discussions and people old enough to drink alcohol legally. They seemed to have died off because everyone concerned is just too busy with work etc.

    They've known about them for aaaages. They don't happen that often, and when they do they don't get invites so it hardly matters really. To be honest they're far more of a social thing when they do actualy happen.

    Well if word gets out where it is going on it could prove difficult to stop them

    It's a small group, word doesn't get out, simple as that.

    *stomp* end of that ;)

    Fair enough, but you should never be too trusting, you cant tell who confides in who no matter who they "hang out with"

    location varies. time varies. day varies. frequency varies wildly. hell, even county varies.

    if it leaks, it generally gets back to someone, it's not hard to change location or time slightly.

    if they still turn up, ignore them, wait for others and walk off I guess, hasn't come to that yet.

    they're v. irregular and most of the people who are invited are highly paranoid and also want to make sure no journos or no 16 year olds trying to grow goatees turn up or any other undesireables.

    clique good
    others bad wink.gif
