Prob with Yahoo Messenger

Not at all sure where this belongs, so mods can move it if necessary.

I have Yahoo Messenger installed, but every week or so, it starts to cause problems. When I try to sign in, it briefly lets me in, then loops back and tries to sign me in again. This happens 15-20 times in a row ("connecting to Yahoo as...welcome to Yahoo... connecting to Yahoo as...") until eventually, it fails completely and I'm logged out of Yahoo.

The only recourse I have is to uninstall YM and reinstall it from the website. This has happened 3 times in the last month - it works flawlessly in between. Searches online have yielded nothing: anyone here got a clue or similar problem?

Thanks fitzdragon, but no, no help. As far as I can see, YM is not reporting any problem with my account: it logs in successfully, the little ball thing starts to smile, but then almost immediately, it loops back around to try logging me in again.

Try the Java version, see how you get on. It's on the same website (messenger.yahoo.com I think).

If it still occurs, it may be your network connection, not the actual software.
