This has prob been done a few times on this forum of Boards but could anyone give me the layout for your common CV. Im looking at a friends here and the footnote (his selling point) looks a bit OTT.

if you want constructive critisisms on this perticular CV, then post up in a zip file and we can have a look.
otherwise, there is a link in the stickied 'helpful links' thread on the main forum page.
it has many ideas for CV's, and will give you a good general overview of CV presentation, content etc.

by the way, ive never heard of a footnote in a CV. and why would you only have your main selling points in a footnote?
the whole CV is a sales tool, why not use the whole thing?
after all, if the reader doesnt get as far as the footnote becuase its gone in the bin, whats the point?

Cheers, Im going to ask him to take it off, his last words on the CV should actually be said in person to the interviewer.

You don't want a common CV you want an uncommon CV. But no so uncommon that they your a lunatic.

Footnote? Are you kidding? Go on post it. Change the details and post it.

What the others said basically; the footnote sounds like something one may want to put on a cover letter if the applicant is requested to include one.

I am sure I am inviting some comments about this, but MS Word provides a very good CV template that looks well - I have used it myself and have received favourable feedback from many interviewers on it. It is the "Contemporary Resume" template.
