    Hey,

Im just curious as to whether a person can borrow from a different bank. A friend of mine mentioned that I could borrow from Bank of Ireland even though i'm an Ulster Bank a/c holder.

Is this correct and if so what documentation is needed?

Yes most definately it is possible.

Usually you'll just need to fill out the application form and provide them with 3 months worth of bank statements. Maybe some proof of income too such as a few payslips or a P60.

    That's about it really.

Chances are that a competitor bank will be more keen to give you a loan than your own bank and introductory offers for new customers are often better than for existing.

Make sure to play them off against each other for the best rate.
