Can anyone recommend a company that will re-chrome car parts... I have an original Miorris grill for my mini that was "cheaply" done for the showseason last year, they were cowboys and i never expected the plating to last but I'm putting the car back on the road this week and the winter has ruined the chrome (see pic)

    please any ideas??

I think I listed a place that does chroming in my Suppliers thread?

Is a new grille expensive ?

a new grill is not available, for some reason you cannot get non cooper morris parts, everything else is reproduced. I have a decent replacement on the way via ebay, but I want a tip top chrome one for the shows etc... I'll take a search thru the suppliers thread, ta

There was a place in Chapelizod, Safeplate, I believe they relocated to Kilkenny !

I have been trying to find someone myself so let me know how you get on. I may end up sending parts to the UK to get done !

Who did you use in the first place anyway ?

Theres a place called tubular steel products that'll do it . They are in a small industrial estate behind the petrol station on Knocklyon Rd Dublin 16. Don't know how good they are though... never used them.

see thepic at the top of the page - thats 80 quids worth of their work. My dad polished the metal which is the only labour intensive part - would you believe they tried to tell me the grill was stainless steel and did not need plating!!! wallies.

their bizness is plating tubular stands for clothing stores, not stuff needing heavy plate.

they tried and they did say there was no gaurantee.

    any other ideas??
