Ok. I'm not a blackjack expert, but that guy 'teaching' blackjack was an idiot. At one point he mentioned that "Oh people tell me computer simulations tell me to do blah... ignore the computer!" (I think this was when he was encouraging people to buy insurance in certain circumstances). Ok, that should be enough to write him off, but also one of his tennants was trending a table, ie carefully watching a dealer on a table to see if she was 'hot' or not (... er he meant if she was hitting good cards). If she's hitting good cards you leave beause she's on a streak (!). I trust the poker stuff will be better!

Well that looked like it was from the 60s. Anway 30 minutes staring at Vicky Coren, sorry I mean listening to poker chat, was good.

Yeah she... er I mean... that was good. The Poker Godfather had interesting bits in it, I hadn't seen that guy from Offaly before. Beyond the felt was good background too.

It was a Dublin-based tournament (can't remember the name of the club) from what looked like the late 90's. Didn't watch it for too long as the Mrs was complaining, and I didn't want to over-do it on the poker channel on the first night.. :D Lots of familliar faces and names, no under-table cameras, prizes were in Irish punts, you could probably smoke at the table back then too :D. Complete with Liam Flood, Jesse May(I think) and random female doing a scripted 'this is the button' intro..

1997 is a good watch alright, was that the only year they had it outdoors? Pretty harrowing to see Ungar in 1997 straight after watching him in 80 and 81, dont do drugs kids.

    Haha

'This is the button' intro was classic. Why you should never have an American and an Irishwoman in the same situation. Sounded so backward!

Yeah, I noticed in the Merrion one some of the hand movements of players when they got a decent hand and got that little bit excited. This was usually followed by a extremely large raise that I felt gave away the hand clearly. In that case it was A A, another time Q Q. The woman at the table kept scrathing her nose till it was her turn to act, made a considerable bet, fold all round.

Liam Flood said the players were regulars at the Jackpot club but later on he said that it was coming from the Merrion.

I was watching the 96 US Poker Champioship there early. Helmuth kept going over and hugging his Mum between pots. Tosser.
