Anyone know if its still going in Monkstown/Dun Laoghaire?
I remember going there during the summer as a kid, the 2 main slides were great, and terrifying when you were small. Expensive though.

The outdoor pool was good, was never pleasant when you were getting in as it was so cold but great fun.

Well closed down - years ago - someone died there or something.
The building is still there though.

I remember this place, they had two slides a white one and a green one. i think the green one was supposed to be faster than the white one.

you used to get a wristband which entitled you to ten goes on the slide.

It closed down and was meant to be done up but the same old thing is happening and they are trying to redevelop the site into offices/apartments. There is a local campaign to save the baths, as besides being a public amenity the building itself has historical architectural merits - believe it or not!

I remember the Rainbow Rapids! I found a wristband from there the other day - it's brown and has holes punched in it. I didn't like the outdoor pool, it was cold.
Where in Dun Laoghaire was it? I can't remember because I was ickle

They had 2 outdoor pools - one for kids and one for adults. My dad grew up around there and said that they used to swim across from the rocks and sneak in! :D

The place had 2 outdoor pools and a paddling pool it was opened up until around 7 summers ago has since been left to rot,i think no matter how much people try stop the apartments they will go ahead.the rainbow rapids where great craic used to love em,i think the person dying was a bit of a dun laoghiare legend but i cant be too sure,i even heard people lost limbs.
The same has happened to black rock baths and that had the huge diving board

dun laoghaire baths are situated across from the entrance to the peoples park on the southern end of the town,it is also across the road from teddies ice cream one of the nicest ice creams places i know

Mih, I went there once when I was about 10, didn't think much of it really... even back then it was run-down.
Maybe it would have been nicer on a sunny day, I dunno.
