Setting up Internet over USB on Eircom DSL

Ok, so recently I formatted my laptop, after the format I installed the Router over the USB connection using the Istream software.

    Everything was fine.

Then I moved my laptopt into an other room, where the ethernet cable from the router goes too, so now I was using the Ethernet card to connect to the internet.

Now I have brought the laptop back into the USB room and cant for the life of me get it to use the USB connection as the internet connection. Infact doing an "ipconfig /all" shows that DHCP aint even configuring the ip address ect of the USB Adapter.

Ive tried reinstalling the IStream software. Then tried uninstalling all USB devices drivers and the Ethernet card driver and the Usb Router driver. And upon restart when they reinstalled freshly trying the I-Stream software again but to no luck.

Before the format I had it working so that when I was in the sitting room, I just plugged in the USB cable and I had net access, and when I was in the Office (in my house) I connected the ethernet cable and I had net access again.

No configuring each time, it just worked.

Any ideas how to get it back like this?

Uninstall the usb modem/router driver and then re install .
Does the modem/router show up in your device manager window when its plugged in .

that netopia is weird on usb,
try unplugging the usb cable from the actual modem as sometimes it doesnt detect the change of pc unless the cable is removed.

Plug in the network cable and usb cable in the modem and your laptop, check the config of modem in your browser http://192.168.1.1 and see if your usb status is up or down.

If you can change the cable or try the modem on another machine.
