You's will all be happy to know the next end of the world prediction is set for Aug 11th 1999. Same time as the eclipse and apprantly Paco rabanewhatshisname has predicted that Mir will drop on Paris wiping it out on that day... so not a total downer I see.

Oh yea, and those of you's who miss the end of the world can get tickets for the next showing in September. I believe 9/9/99 is the favorite venue time.

    isn't 9/9/99 the computer-can't-cope-cos-of-infinity-or-somethin' date?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 21,264 ✭✭✭✭Hobbes

Yep, also Nostrowhathisname predicted a metor would hit in September wiping out all life, seeing as we didn't die in July when he said we would.

Just to help advertise the end of the world tour, you would be happy to know for the next fews days we are going to get a whacking by solar flares. Here's a picture to make it more scary.

Nostradamus first says 1999, the seventh month. In Nostradamus' days, the first month of the year was the month of March. So the seventh month of the year is not July. Also, in those days, the calendar was different than the one which we utilize today

For once you were wrong Hobbes he never said anything about July smile.gif

Next on the end of the world tour..

Aug 21st - GPS systems set to fail.

Don't know how this would effect anything except maybe a few boats getting lost.

The calendar we use is the Gregorian calendar, standardised by Pope Greg. himself.

Now, that was before N. started having flashbacks and having bum trips (has he ever predicted anything good?). So, the calendar would be the same in structure.

As for the start of the year, yes, it was changed in 1751 from the 25th March to 1st jan, so, add 3 months on to each prediction (nearly four). Apart from that, all months have remained the same.
