Any ideas what I can use to MP4a music files, I've tried the usual suspects, if I could get a converter to MP3 that would do fine.

db power amp will convert afaik google

also try foobar as a player

iTunes will play and convert mp4a files aswell.They can be coverted into AAC, MP3 and WAV formats at whatever bitrate you want.
