The Pill-side effects?

    Hi everyone,
I am thinking of going on The Pill (the combined one, oestrogen and progesterone) for contraceptive reasons. However one of my friends is on it and claims it increased her breast size from an A to a C.
I'm just wondering, is it common for The Pill to have this side effect? I'm happy with my size so I don't want them getting bigger!
I came off the contraceptive injection (progesterone only) as it was making me very moody so I don't want to go back on that. Also I know there is a progesterone-only Pill but my GP does not recommend it for me.

    Thanks

I'm sure the various pills vary in their effects, but I have heard of increased breast size being one side effect of (some?) contraceptive pills.

they all have their own side effects depending on the brand and dosage. just check the little info book carefully.
i haven't noticed any major side effects really, so if its causing any for me i haven't noticed. hehe :)

As Beruthiel always says - this is not a medical forum.

Talk to your GP about your concerns over Pill side effects.

    Taken from http://www2.vhihealthe.com/topic/topic13091 :
    [*]What are the side effects?

Today's pills contain much smaller amounts of hormones than the ones that first came on the market in the 1960s, and thus cause fewer side effects. You may have spotting or bleeding between periods, or no period at all. Some women get headaches and nausea (try taking your pills with meals or just before bedtime). Others report swollen breasts, increased appetite, weight gain or loss, an altered sex drive, or periods of depression. Most side effects go away within three months; sometimes switching to another brand of pill can help.

It depends on the brand you take for some people there are no side affects at all my friend was on it had very bad mood swings and her breasts went up 2 sizes so she came off it went on a different one and now she's fine no side effects at all.the one im on i havent experence any side effects except i went up a cup size it didnt bother me much. it really depends different brands suit different people its jus a matter of finding the right one for you and the only way to do that is to try ifyou have any unwanted side effects ask your doc to change your brand for you.
    good luck!

as its not a medical board all i can give you reference from my experience with the pill, the pill did effect my body.. not always to such a degree that you will notice, i personally gained weight. not all girls do. my friends breasts got bigger, my sister got thin! the thing is that you cant always predict what will happen, also you cant put it down to the pill since your body is constantly changing and developing until (i think) into your early 20's

talk to your doctor about this
everyone of us is different and we will all react to the pill differently,
therefore no one here can recommend something to you in the safe knowledge that it will work for you.
