The Library.....

    Sucks Ass.........

You get all sorts of bizarre people inhabiting the library. There was a fella sitting across from me wearing a pink t-shirt who managed to get about 5 minutes worth of study done over a period of 2 hours. The rest of the time he was either farting(!!), blowing his nose, stretching, walking around, drinking water, getting more water, and then going for a slash........

Wrecked my head so I moved.........

Now instead I am surrounded by people surrounded by enormous stacks of books instead. They will never read them all, but at least they are making an honest effort.

only 3 weeks to the start and only 6 weeks to it being allllll over......

i hate the john stearne its such a dump of a libary! It always packed and its getting impossible to get a place at all.

indy you should use the usher its so much nicer (the 4th floor especially, use the elevator if you don't like stairs!) its much roomier and brighter and its gotta great view of the cricket pitches/ pav!

That wasn't in the Hamilton was it? There's a guy who fits the description (ALWAYS a pink t-shirt and acting like a tosser) who's in there. He and his buddies have managed to piss off pretty much everyone I know.

I was thinking that myself when I read indy's description. Does one of the guys youre thinking of wear a white duffel coat?

Don't recall a white duffel coat but they look like the sort who would

    Always shouting random girls names?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭DrIndy

I found Pinky on the 4th floor of the Ussher......

So I emigrated to the third floor and then discovered the mysterious computer room with no access from the library.....

You get all sorts here. Why do (certain) girls wear a bucket of perfume when they are only going to the fecking library?!? Good thing smoking is banned in the library coz they would go up like a torch!

Then there's the Lecky where everyone just talks all the time, should be renamed the conversation room!

The chill-out zone for all the BESS cats.

    ....MOCKING........
    ....BE$$.......
    .......AAAaaaaaaaaahhhhh!!!!!.......

    Goddamit...

Judging by their conversations (which could be heard all over the lecky), they certainly weren't the brightest lamps on the street........yaaaah, loike.... oi knaow.....

    LOL :D

It's so difficult to avoid BESS-bashing innit? I have to bite my tongue sometimes, or I'd really offend some people.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 520 ✭✭✭foxybrowne

I'd never bash a BESS when I could crush a cat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭DrIndy

I find their artificial accents amusing and their body habitus hilarious......

Ussher is not a bad auld spot to study in..........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,579 ✭✭✭Pet

    Now there's a mouth-mangler.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,381 ✭✭✭snorlax

the 4th floor/ usher is classics and philosophy, haven't noticed too many BESS people there. Seems to be mainly arts people.

the toilets are so near(just a lift away!), and its a hell of a lot quiter then the john stearne.

what i don't like are those machines at the entrance to the Berkely. They never work for me, and those security guards look ready to pounce on you when you get stuck behind the barriers(with a massive of queue of people behind!)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,461 ✭✭✭DrIndy

just vault the barrier, all they notice is you keep going, not how you opened the gate........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,381 ✭✭✭snorlax

well thats really going to impress secrurity! and im not always going to be dressed for vaulting barriers, they'll probably think im a terrorist or something!

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,487 ✭✭✭Kevin_rc_ie

do you sometimes dress as a terrorist?

I have 4 spots in the library where I like to sit which I'm able to open a window and sit with all the books I need, leave my stuff there without worry, and have a nice air flow and quiet.
Not telling ya's where it is :)
Although Usher 4th floor is nice, although the lights on the table are a bit too strong and give me a headache, so there is only one seat in that floor that I can sit on past 4pm, which is the one where you control the light and the wall is in front of you.

    I'm very particular :)

Man, I'm glad I'm not a BESS girl or I could have taken grave offence at that...

Disclaimer: Sociology and Social Policy may be in the BESS faculty but it is very different to BESS. It's like comparing civil engineering with... one of the other engineerings, or medicine with nursing, or Luke Skywalker with Darth Vader

    In summary:
    BESS = force of evil
    SocSocPol = force of good

average interpreter works between 15-20 hours a week,

this is rising all the time.

    deadly buzz.

On that note, the best career is to be in a small, (obscure) field that is hugely in demand. I speak norwegian and any search of monster.ie or irishjobs.ie with the key word norwegian will result in a tumult of demand. I worked in the very unique field of a norwegian tour guide for 4 years and raked it in and was at times so busy I had no time to attend college.

Agent is fortunate to have found such a career and I know you will find it a deeply rewarding one........

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,095 ✭✭✭Chick

Ok, got me there, true seal are very cute!

But he has no whale-like qualities? Whales are huge, and don't seem to have the same appeal as a teeny weeny seal pup. And planktons are very non descript Agent?

indys the kinda guy you bring home and keep in a box, and only let him out when your sick.
He didn't do that when I brought him home!
