eDonkey download

tryn to download episode of sg off edonkey, do this all the time with other networks and got my stuff, found edonkey and left everything behind coz it was so great, but now its fckn up n me - have 99.73 % of file and it just wnt finish... left it on continuelsy, bin a week now and hasnt moved. how is it that no one has the last part of the file? ive given up, can anyone tell me how to take the file as it is, has to be on my comp someeher, right? i dnt really care about .3%, on other networks like kmd, limewire, morpheus, the like this occasionaally happened but i could always play the file from the incomplete folder or the weird file name it has before finishd(dowload000788....) in the shared folder. the incomplete folder has the file as a folder with a group of stuff in it that wmp or divX cnt play. when i preview it only gives me a minute of it. this is really annoying as i spent alot of time on this and i dnt wnt to try again. anyway to tell edonkey to finish it up or anywher this file is stored as .avi or the like??

What is sg? you do know that it is against the boards charter to ask for help on downloading copyrighted material don't you?

I find eMule a lot better myself, it is based on eDonkey but with a bunch of extra features and improvements

I don't know about eDonkey, but with eMule you can use VideoLAN to view a video that is only partly downloaded, for further info just google for emule videolan preview and you will get all the instructions you will need

If the bit you're missing is near the beginning, you're probably screwed. Just bite the bullet and get it by other means.

nice move, OP! calling your episode "SG". It could mean anything. (although it obviously is stargate). So assuming that it is not copyrighted material, just leave it on edonkey for a while longer. One of the original seeders/uploaders of the file will eventually log back online and continue uploading the file.

If you expand your download (by clicking the "+" sign beside it), you will see lots of users with "no needed parts" and most other people will have 99% of that file as well. If you read Edonkey sites, they always advise you to just sit back, forget about it, and in a few weeks time it will finish.

not sure about edonkey - as I use emule so i'm not 100% familiar - but there's usually a "last seen complete" - this will tell you if anyone out there has the complete file. It can be a pain though sometimes. Maybe install emule - this can then take your edonkey download and it might have more success - especially with KAD - tends to increase the hits a lot.

never used edonkey, so im not sure if it downloads in order or in pieces but if it keeps the file structure correct avipreview will repair it and just clip a bit a the part thats missing

i managed to get it from a second download(usually have more than one running - first to finish) the other is still stuck, well gone now, dnt no why, very odd, avi preview could not run the PART files in series only the 1st one, VLC and its emule plugin may have worked but only with original emule files, not mine from edonkey. its weird that edonkey could only preview the first PART file, kmd, morpheus, etc could always view whats was downloaded. thanks for the help though

didnt know emule could take edonkey dl's, thats cool

If you change to eMule, you can import your eDonkey downloads.
