Need help! CGI scripts

I'm trying to get a cgi script to work on a website I'm making at the moment. Unfourtunatly I don't know the first thing about them I actually having enough trouble with HTML to be honest (have not used it in two years).

So anyway does anybody know of an online IDIOTS GUIDE to CGI.

you shouldn't need to knwo cgi to do that... go to a place like http://cgi.resourceindex.com/Programs_and_Scripts/Perl/Guestbooks/ ... there should be one thats fully customisable to someone without any knowledge of CGI... what you do need to knw is how to change permissions of your files on your webspace... the readme should explain well enough but if not, then someone on IRC would tell you how to do it

I need it to act as a guestbook for a site but I'mm very particualr about the way I want it and I was told CGI was the only way to go
