I want to get a new PC for home with as much bang for buck as possible but on a budget. Thinking of going for an 8400 with 512MB RAM, 250GB SATA and DVD+/-RW. I found some at the Outlet Store for €639 but I wanted to price at the regular store because they are offering free memory upgrade etc. The problem is I can't figure out how to buy the PC without a display. I've tried the Home and Small Business sites but I can't figure out how to ditch the monitor. Can anyone set me straight?

I think the outlet store is the only place lou can get a dell without a monitor. You could try ordering over the phone and talking to a real person, they might be able to help.

the outlet store, the XPS machine and the servers are the only places were you can drop the display other than that they are bundled with the machine

If they let you order without a display you won't save much, certainly nowhere near the price of the display. one option would be to get the display and then sell it on .

They will actually let you buy without display. Have done so just after christmas. However the price difference is not that much and as already suggested get it and then sell it on.

If you ring up they will take the monitor off the order. Make sure they give you a decent price as its really up to the rep as to what discount you get for no monitor.
