boss br11880 10 track help!

    hello people anyone know anybody that could fix my boss 10 track there is something wrong with the hard drive it keeps coming up HARD DRIVE ERROR,this machine is like my musical diary i do eveything on it and need it back working if anyone knows i would be so greatfull if they could help.

    i'm no expert bu it could be a damaged file system on the hard drive or maybe a corrupted file or someting...try giving roland a ring and get further advice... i'd say erasing the hard drive would sort it but u don't wanna do that unless u have some way of backing up your stuff do u???

    they don't give an email address but the address for the UK is support@roland.co.uk

    There could be bad sectors on the disk surface, in which case the disk will need to be replaced. Generally these companies do not assume liability for any information which may get lost during procedures like these.

    A long shot might be to track down a product by Symantec called Ghost and use a PC to try to clone the information onto a different hard disk, it basically reads the original disk sector by sector and clones the whole thing.

    they really should put a couple of hdd tools on there seperate from the man software for emergencies like this like scan disk and mayb even a defrag program... is the hard drive removable

    i tried that number for roland i dont think thats there number a voice just says"this number was in service".What ever that means,eh you know i dont know much about hard drives and stuff i think you can take it out but not sure i think all the data is gone because it comes up on screen "no data" when i try press record.

    oh **** thats crap sorry man... you could hook it up to a pc and attempt to browse the hard drive... thats the number on the website m8... try sendin off a mail
