Plenty of Traditional (Japanese) jiu Jitsu. No Brazilian, except for those of us who try.....

Can I recomend the club that I study/train with. It is in the village of Donabate across the road from the church in the social hall. We train every Tue evening from 8 to to 10. The Martial art is called " Jiu-Jitsu" and the style we do is "Akarui-No-Chishiki-Kan" (House of the light of knowledge). PM if you need any more information.

    Regards John

    Virtual Nemesis

Sorry for not getting back to you sooner.
Club meets every Tues evening from 8 till 10 ish. Our Shihan featured in Irish Fighter a few months back. The hall is located across the road from the church on the bend coming from the railway bridge. (hall next to old graveyard) it would be an ideal time for you to join as we have three new members in the last month or so easier to teach a few rather than one. Threre are about 10 members of the club on a regular night so each person gets a real hands on with the training and the Shihan. The website has been down for about six months but your best bet would be to turn up on tue about 8:00 to see for yourself. (no need to bring training gear on the first night).

    Regards, John

ah dont worry about it. cheers for getting back at all

and how much is it for the sessions?

Cost is Six euro at present per training session.
There is also a cost for insurance and membership I think it's around 100 euro but don't quote me on it. Turn up the first you don't have to pay or train all you have to do is watch and ask questions fill in few forms etc.

    Regards, John

I trained in JJ for quite a bit, so ive an idea what the trainings like but 100 lids is still step as an annual sub I think. and then on top of that theres the inevitable badges, gradings, certs, licences etc etc JJ clubs seem to be so fond of. id like to see what other peeps here charge/pay in terms of membership and insurance , it could just be me who thinks that price is steep

the club i train now with use weapons mostly, and spar with em, but our insurance doesnt require 100 lids per punter

Not trying to hang anyone, anyone is entitled to charge what they want.
Just as info though, Martial Arts Insurance is about 500lids per year for 30 or so students, rising incrementally based on student numbers.

My guess is that we're all covered by AISC, so the insurance is probably the same for every club. However, the sports industry does make most of its money on annual membership/sign up fees.
