my advice would be to get rid of this sad tag

    So your daughter's a hooker,
    and it spoiled your day.
    Look at the bright side,
    it's really good pay.

Go to Century 21 beside the World Trade Centre - excellent value.

Jersey Gardens - a VERY large outlet mall about 30 mins outside NY. People will also tell you to go to Woodbury Common. In my opinion, Jersey Gardens is much better - no tax, and much bigger. Get bus from bus station.

Be careful of the small electronic stores on 5th Avenue - buy in reputable stores instead. CompUSA for PC stuff.

And the best advice of the lot - Travel light (hand luggage going out) and bring at least 3 or 4 large collapsible bags in your hand luggage - you will need them to get stuff home.

Jersey gdns is a deffo recomendation, Its only about $6 return, go early on a weekday n it'll be empty, bring ur passport n when u get there go to the consierge/info desk n ask for a discount book(comes in dead handy) go to J&R electrics, huge place, sells everything electronic n its cheap cheap cheap + the service is fantastic. Don't buy anything electronic in times square, rip off n the guys in the shops don't know what they're talking about. Do the Empire State building on a clear night, fantastic views... I could go on n on n on.

Get a PSP*/DS/Laptop/Digi-cam, they'll all be a heck of a lot cheaper over there than here!

*comes out on Friday, I think, so maybe the normal games stores will be sold out but Walmart might have some.

Make sure to take off all the tags before you fly back...then if customs stop you just tell them that you had them with you going over.....pack lightly......go to the outlet....I went to Phili when I was over there and went to these outlets and they had everything,,......Nike, Ralf Lauren, Levi and so on for nothing.....Nike runners 30 dollers.......40 doller return trip on bus.......but I think there is outlet now beside NY....

Clothes was mostly wat I got....also if I was going now wud get a new Vid card for PC.....

If you are going to the states then diamonds are apparently the things to buy. I have heard that a gem that costs 10000 euros here can be bought for 1000 dollars over there. Do your homework though, you dont want to get caught out with those kinda figures. You can hide it on the way back by putting it between the cracks or your arse or whatever is comfortable for ya.

    yes, yes, yes, yes,YES!

    BUT,

you will not be able to play european/japanese umd movies.

(which isn't a problem cuz you could just import the movies from the states much cheaper. and in most cases, have them before european release)

If you are really paranoid about customs, simply post the manuals etc home.

looking there on the http://www.jerseygardens.com/ website i reckon that you would be better just goin to the states with handluggage and buying the cases over there(there is an add for samsonite cases and they seem really cheap here).
