    Hey,

    Anyone used iLife '05?

Is it worth upgrading? I use iPhoto quite a bit, I have about 5000 photos?

Don't really use any the iLife products?

    regards

    SG

Yeah, I've got iLife '05, not a huge improvement over '04.
Like you, I only really use iPhoto. The interface is a bit nicer and images seem to load a bit faster, there's a few new tools aswell, there's a nice thumbnail bar across the top when you're in edit view which makes browsing easier. A decent upgrade but by no means essential.

iWork on the other hand is a must, if you don't already have it. I know that you didn't ask but I thought i'd mention it anyway.

Garageband 2 has some nice improvements, as for iphoto, it's meant to be better but since I really just archive pic's can't say.

I am surprised that you say that as most of the reviews I have read of it have been very critical and the general concensus was that it was a product that should not have been launched yet as it simply wasnt ready the main criticism of course being of the word processor.

If you take pages solely as a word processor then you will probably find that it isn't very good and indeed it is missing a lot of features that you would find in pages for example, the beauty of pages is that you can have a stunning document ready for print in no time at all. Pages should be viewed as an affordable and easy desktop-publisher/word proccessor, it has made my reports for college a doddle and they also happen to look twice as good.

if you're going compare pages to other word proceesors then it is pointless because they each have they're different uses.

I suppose since I started this, I should put in my two sense. I decide to go for it and get the new version. I have to admit it is worth it (imho) just for iPhoto. I have thousand of photos and they load much quicker and the UI is much better. One of the other things is that it can import CRW or Canon RAW files directly from my Canon G5. Very handy indeed.

    Thanks for all your input.
