Um...why won't it work? Double clicking on the icon in My Computer just gives me a "not a valid Win32 application" error. And I get the same error when I try the Launcher.exe file. Anyone?

Don't know if this is related but I just tried it (to see if it was just your copy that was bad) and it crashed/hung window's explorer on me.
I dunno...I'd happily take a price cut of 25c or something and let them keep the travesty that is The Month (it's previous CDrom format was sh*te and slow to run also).
Sunday times has gone very much downhill in the last year or two anyhow...not a patch on what it used to be...

Tried it on a laptop I have lying around and it works fine. And I really wanted to play that Lego Star Wars demo...

Just d/l it...not that big (240mb) and it's pretty good but a little short....oh and the camera sucks.

Tried launching the Month twice more and crashed explorer again both times. Off to stick it in the dvd player, and then in the fire...

OK for some very odd reason this plays perfectly in my laptop but not in desktop. Could have something to do with a burner on the desktop drive (laptop only has dvd rom).

Resolution sucks on the UI but hey, at least it loads faster then those cd roms with the Flash menus.
So far only the Arrested Developement episode is worth watching...

i can only get the part with the game demos to work, not the part with the music reviews etc.

It's the dumbest idea ever - who wants their house cluttered up with useless dvds? It's suppposed to be a newspaper, not a multi-media product!

btw, you can view it by opening the vobs in your dvd software, it's not as navigable as the flash doodad though
    hardly worth the effort tbh

agreed. least you can recycle the newspaper when finished - what are you supposed to do with [DV/C]Ds???
AND they upped the price to 2 euro from yesterday...
Wish we could do like in some tv ad (VHI maybe? Bupa?) where they go and get all the different sections they want from different papers - that's a class idea... :)

Yeah that seriously IS a good idea. Anyone buying the ST will know the amount of sheer crap sections there are...after the news bit, culture (for the telly and Liam Fay), sports, review and maybe the mag, the rest is firelighting material at best. Especially the pretentious brit wankfest that is The Style
Now I'm sure there are people out there who read the business sections but I reckon the vast majority of irish buyers skim it at best.
As for the free dvd thing...it's a marketing ploy. They get to advertise lots of snazzy crap in a way they simply can't do on paper. It's a double-whammy cos they sell more papers (I firmly believe that free dvds with ANYTHING on them, up sales figures) and get their normal ads sen that way. When they go looking for advertisers for the next issue carrying The Month, they can sell their ad space at a premium...
