just back form the fireworks in town. i though it was absolute and utter sheit. what was that "soundtrack" all about - completely out of sync and crap unsuitable music to boot. very disapointed, a complete waste of my time.

The soundtrack can be fixed by listening to your own music. Although yeah, it was pretty dire compared to last year... however I was so far away and had no radio I couldn't hear it anyway. Had a great view, though. Right at the front. Took loads of photos, couple films. Still sorting through it all.
Managed to miss the traffic getting out of town, too, which was great. :D

Saw bits and pieces of it. I thought it was quite underwhelming, and it was hell getting a bus home afterwards

All I could think about while watching from my roof window was London's New Year fireworks display and how Skyfest was crap by comparison.

I've gone in to watch it every year since it began. And every year I'm amazed by how its the exact same as the previous year's one and how it just does not progress or change whatsoever.

I didn't bother this year, watched some of it on tv. Sucked, sucked, sucked.

I figure though that by now non-nationals make up a huge amount of the audience. Irish people know by now that its just gonna be the exact same thing all over again. Its ridiculous!

That said, it's nice to watch at the time.

It still was a great show.

Saw soooo many people looking at it through the little display on their digital cameras.... they were like that the whole time! (and people with their crappy camera phones).
For crikes sakes people..... look up and use your eyes!!
Who cares if you have pics of the thing but you never looked up and enjoyed it!

Who cares if you didnt enjoy it or not..... Im sure they'll change it next ya next year tho and spent that extra million just so they know that you enjoyed. Speaking of change what excatly do you want them to do witht he thousands of euro worth or fireworks, are we forgeting that these guys who design the show are top of their game. ITs not their fault this S*it rock of a country has no proper monuments to launch them from.

ITS FREE............ What in the name do you want for that. "A Complete waste of my time".....The word MUPPET springs to mind. Im sure you had much more fun things planned something right like hanging out on here!

Fair play to 98fm and 7UP... Great show!

It's not progressing at all and it should. Spectacular shows are no longer spectacular when they're predictable and run-of-the-mill. Its pure laziness! It's our national holiday - if they're gonna claim to put on the most spectacular night of the year, they should at least make it special and not the same-old same-old.

We left after about ten minutes and went to the pub, perfect time to get a seat :)

The fact that we could only see the really high fireworks didn't help either.

    Oh well ...

They should have jazzed it up a little bit and attached each firework to the back of a dirty skanger.Imagine the cheers of delight upon seeing deco and anto crying for their mammy as they're launched into the clear night sky.
