Very Strange Question

Every now and again I get this problem. I will restart the pc for what ever reason it maybe but as soon as it posts it goes no further than that. It doesn't even count the amount of memory or check for the drives. Its a gigabyte K8NNXP motherboard with 1GB of ram, ati radeon 9800pro, win xp sp2, 120GB Western Digital Caviar HDD. The only solution I have is to reset the bios on the mother board. It can be quiet annoying to this as I have to open the side of my case to this. As soon as I lift off the jumper and replace it back on the pc will work perfectly until it happens again and I have to reset it! :( :confused:

Sounds like a bad bios. Have you tried updating the bios or even reinstalling the current bios? Also, what psu are you using?

What also could be the problem is a failing HDD. Bios cant read HDD. Either one :)

nah I defo dont think the HDD is failing. There no signs of it! It cant read the dvd burner or the dvd/cd rw combo either when this happens (or the RAM!). I reckon its got something to do with the bios!

Well then try updating the bios and see how that goes :)
