Hey guys, having a little trouble with this new surround sound system I got from aldi today. It's a tevion 5.1 surround sound system. The problem being I havnt the foggiest on how to set it up.

I'm using onboard sound from my motherboard, which says it takes 6 channel audio - am i correct in assuming the speakers should work with this? Or do i need to go out and buy a proper soundcard? I was planning on getting something like the zs2 sometime in the future anyway but wanted these set up now.

Can anyone tell me what i need/need to do.

I can get any 2 of the 5 speakers and the subwoofer working. But there is still 2 leads that need to go somewhere, but i dont know where. Can anyone enlighten me!?

Try opening your volume control. Click the advanced button under master volume, See if there is an option to set the line in as the rear speakers, and the mic as the center speaker + subwoofer.

S/PDIF out port on back I/O
The P4S800 provides convenient connectivity to external home theater audio systems via an S/PDIF out interface. Experience 5.1-channel surround sound and enhanced 3D audio while playing your favorite DVDs or games.
You only get the 5.1 if using SPDIF (Sony/Philips Digital InterFace) a.k.a. an optical lead

Thats the problem im at now. There is 2 leads that go into the subwoofer and 1 from them into the p.c but there is 3 of them types of leads and only 1 space in the back of the mobo. I was looking at this but on the picture i don't see where the leads go in that either.

Alot of mobos with on board sound have jumpers to change the Audio I/O between 2 channel(stereo) and 5.1 (surround). Check you mobo manual.

Also read the manual that came with the speakers to see how to connect the speakers.

The optical lead goes into a decoder to send the signal to your speakers. Just get a new sound card. Cheaper and will take up less space.
