    damn at that price 1269 euro...its a cracker....find me one with that spec and cheaper would be very hard.

    Just be aware that the software will more than likely be German. Also what the support going to be like if you run into problems. Personaly I'd wait for an Aldi laptop offer to come up. Usually around the €1300-1400 mark and highly spec'd. If something goes wrong at least you can walk into the shop.

    Edit: Also the keyboard may be differently marked.

    in november 2003 i picked up a 3ghz p4@ 800fsb, radeon 9600(which clocks to 400/295) a 60 gb 7200rpm hdd, and 1gb ddr 400.

    Point.....that seems a touch expensive by now(i know its a different market..ie battery life, but still it seems expensive, and the definition of best notebook is wildly open to interpretation.
    if your happy with 90minutes battery, pickup one of the desktop cpu based monsters! else get something like that, but cheaper.

    No batt life is important to me and i can not find a cheaper notebook esp. considering i want a good graphics chip and 1024mb ram

    I hate the way Dell post their prices excluding vat and delivery, they're one of the few who do that.
