Building a wooden garden shed.

I was wondering if anyone can give me some information on building my own shed. About 12' x 8' would do the job.

I think a sloped roof to one side would be ok (Is this a good idea?)

Also, would it work out cheaper to build my own shed or would I just be better off buying a ready made one?

Has anyone done this and if so, what materials were used?

Thanks for your time, and all replies are appreciated?

If there are any online resources you know off with info on building garden sheds, Id be happy to hear about them.

    Thanks very much again..

    Howdy,
I built an 8x12 wooden shed using the following:- Built a subfloor out of pressure treated 2x6's and covered that with 3 sheets of 1'' 8x4 plywood. This all sits on 9'' blocks. I built the walls from 2x4's covered with 1/2'' shuttering ply, screwed on with chipboard screws. All four walls bolt together at the corners using carraige bolts.
The roof was covered with ordinary mineral felt nailed/stapled on, Its 8' at the front and 7' at the back so whatever that slope works out at( see photos) I also covered the back wall ( faces into the prevailing wind/rain) with mineral felt. The front was painted with a good exterior paint and the sides with some oul preservative I had left over from another job.
I moved the whole shed last year and carried it on the roofrack of an ordinary car. Last year I put an old double glazed patio door into the roof as a skylight, its about 6'x3' and even in the winter it heats the shed up in the daytime. I am thinking of covering the front and sides with cedar shingles later on this year( if I can find them).
As far as I can remember I paid about 300 euro for the plywood , about 50 for the mineral felt, 50 for screws and nails .The 2x4's I had scrounged., so the whole thing cost about 4/500. I reckon you could do it today for less than a grand. I have attached a couple of pics of it.If you can swing a hammer and use a screw gun you can build it no sweat. Good luck

Has anyone bought/seen any of those Argos/Homebase/etc prefab sheds?
The seem to be much cheaper than the ones in that link, and the plastic ones seemed ok.
Im in the market for one myself and am looking around, probably be about 9x6...
