    Hi,

I'm looking for a DVD burner - one for the telly.
    Has anyone seen them cheap?

I saw Yamaha DVD writer in Dunnestores for 199 euro today. I don't know how good is that but it plays all most all formats and records DVDs as well.

apparently the yamaha is supposed to be a good recorder, but dont quote me im only going by word of mouth, give it a google and find a product review, argos had one for around 200 a while back, a lite-on, not sure if its part of their new catalogue but i had a bad experience with a lite-on pc dvd burner so that put me off getting it. Im holding off for another 6 months to see what else pops up on the market

    I have the lite-on here
    http://www.blankdiscshop.co.uk/acatalog/Hardware_Section__.html

€210 +€16 post. You can get your blanks there to very cheap, think about 70cent for a dvdrw
got some ropey reviews and some good ones. i have no trouble with it since i put in new firmware, making it region and macrovision free (you can hook up a dvd player to it with scart and copy dvds that way).
it is the next model up from the argos lite-on

I got a Matsui in Dixons 2 weeks ago for 199.99. Pretty good, very easy to set up and plays all formats. You can also make it region free.
