    Hi,

Looking to buy a lawnmower and noticed that Aldi are selling one next week for €89.99 (see here: http://ireland.aldi.com/special_buys/product_1330.html). Would anyone know if this is any good, or could they recommend another one.

We only have a small back lawn (the usual semi-d estate house size), so I dont think there is any need to get a petrol one??

if you are worried about electric mowers, don't be, I have used this one in the past with no trouble at all

I'm in need of a lawnmower soon and I was checking them out in the usual suspects.

B&Q have a Qualcast Rotary Electric Mower with collection box for €74. I think it's as good as you'll get. It's for a small garden so I'm not bothering with the petrol.

    B + Q have a 3.5 HP petrol for €119.
    Cheapest petrol I've seen.

I see Dunnes have a Qualcast have an Electric Cylinder mower for €89 (I think). That seems like a good deal?

Yes, but aren't cylinder mowers supposed to be better than rotary??

Apparently you get a better cut from them but unless you're looking for a putting green finish, the rotary do ok for me.
I've used a rotary on my garden for the last 8 yrs and I am happy with it. It has an aluminium body with a plastic box which is ideal for anti rusting. To keep the lawn looking good, I throw down every March/April new seed to thicken up the lawn and over the summer months I use Lawn Sand every 6wks to keep it looking green and the weeds at bay.
