Whoa! Whats going on here? Halman if you work for Halfords and I suspect you do then you should make that absolutly clear with an introduction. I dont have a problem with a "pimping" thread if its made clear whats what.

    Mike.

Have had contact with some classic clubs they suggested contact on this board. Want to extend to as many classic enthusiasts as possible this is an excellent board and a good way to communicate with Halfords on a mutual level. It also means we can be responsive to peoples views. I have an interest in cars and also work for Halfords.

Perhaps it's 'early days', but I was somewhat disappointed with the range of tools in Halfords Coolock. (e.g. I was looking for a cigarette lighter-to-cigarette lighter jump lead and none were available)
Also, prices seemed on the high side ?!

Which prices were on high side can you be more specific? We will match any retail price in Ireland. Tools has just been reranged what were you looking for? :D

 Jump leads was a supply problem and fair point. Thanks for feedback.

    Hi

I am a regular visitor to the UK and I found that the prices are comparable, unlike a certain large DIY store which are much more expensive here (IMHO)

i think the range is more limited for service parts such as oil filters....
I am trying to get a Champion C102 --- easy in the UK -- but no stocked here...

The other items that are hard to get here as UNF/UNC nuts and bolts...a must have item for older cars.

Anyway, overall its great and much better than Motorstore.

(PS I will keep an regular eye on UKvsIreland prices ;) )

Why not come along to the Terenure show in the summer with a stand, offer a discount to classic car owners, donate something to charity --- if you really want to win our hearts....

My local motor factors is still the cheapest and best service but fair play for asking for feedback

We can order any part especially classics. Prices as previous we will match any independant or factor. Also these posts will be passed back to UK so keep requests for support coming in you never know we may be able to support you> :D Help me to help you. Thanks for input.

I have used Halfords in Coolock on numerous occasions, probably too many ! Anyway my experiences were good, staff knowledgeable and approachable, which is something that the competition lacked IMO !

In MStore the guys knew nothing about anything except ICE and which is the best plastic bonnet for a Civic, whilst some Motorfactors expect Joe Public to know as much as they do !

I think a Club discount card would be an excellent idea, I'd suggest drawing up an application form and get it posted on-line ! I'd get the members in our Merc Club to apply and I reckon they'd use the store frequently!

Excellent - this is a great service, not available anywhere in Ireland AFAIK

Could you supply for a 1972 Citroën DS :

Tinted windscreen - part number DX 961-3B
    7 cylinder hydraulic pump - p/no D5 409 758T
    Rear height corrector - p/no U 40-851

Can you give an indication of price for the above?

How much per litre for LHM? Do you stock LHS?

What about tyres? Michelin XAS 180/15 & 165/15.

I'm struggling to find all of these parts (except the LHM) even using the web - I'm amazed they're all available in Coolock.

    Thanks in advance...

Yes thats a good one, we could get, but on this go direct to a high end specialist. www.brodie.co.uk I do have an interest in cars and would say if you need more for a car of that type this would be best place. :) They also manufacture parts for citreon.

Was still a supply problem on Saturday when I was there... :(
I had to buy a set elsewhere.

That said - the staff in Liffey Valley Halfords were very helpful about the other stuff on my list, which I did get.
