60 euro!! fúck that... although that’s on musicroom:) it's half that price on Amazon..

Can anyone recommend some good instructional dvd's? I just need to improve on my general playing ability, I feel like I’m going no where tbh.. Something that covers a wide variety of things, afaik this dvd only covers things like picking and accuracy?

Anyone know any good dvds that cover some theory, or even books:)

    Thanks

You can get the pdf of rock discipline on file sharing progs *cough* i havent seen the dvd but i wouldnt buy the thing personally most of the exercises are very mechanical so unless you have the mentality for it youd get bored pretty quick. You can find similar stuff on the net anyway for technique no guys exercises are any better than anyone elses. Go to www.ibreathemusic.com loads of stuff on there and have a look for steve vai's 30hr thing aswell it has some useful stuff in it aswell (angular exercises).

Just remember to use a metronome i didnt start to use one until recently and my technique is getting alot better already. Another thing which is more fun than exercises just take small chunks out of songs and practise them like the bit of paganinis 5th caprice in eugenes trickbag from the movie crossroads with steve vai going head to head with the karate kid, kick his ass ralph! etc...

I honestly have to say that the Rock Discipline DVD is well worth it, but you can get it from Amazon much cheaper than 60 of our eurons.

As for the metronome, download Weird Metronome, which is extremely handy. :)

Got mine from www.cduniverse.com for a lot less than €60.

I got my copy in a shop just off Denmark Street for about £20. It's a good DVD and very informative, even if it doesn't play on my PC.

That shop was the business, all it sold was tab and instructional videos\books. Can't remember the name of it though but it's worth looking for if you're ever in London.
