Have seen the posters and booked my tickets. Here's the details:
SPRING TOUR : BRAND NEW SHOW FOR 2005!
DERREN BROWN @ The Olympia , April 8th
News last updated: 31-01-2005 The controversial, award-winning psychological illusionist Derren Brown, will perform his mind boggling illusions as part of his "Something Wicked This Way Comes Tour" at the Olympia Theatre on Friday April 8th. Derren Brown is a unique force in the world of illusion - he can seemingly predict and control human behaviour. He doesn?t claim to be a mind-reader, instead he describes his craft as a mixture of applied psychology, magic, misdirection and showmanship.

Whatever you choose to call it, his unparalleled performances amaze and unsettle all those who watch him. This is a powerful and provocative form of entertainment, unlikely to be imitated for a long while. Derren Brown is being talked about as a unique performer in the world of magic entertainment. A psychological illusionist who possesses an audacious confidence and a rare intuition which seemingly enable him to predict and control human behaviour.

In his current Channel 4 offering, Brown takes to the streets of America for a documentary-styled one-hour programme, where he raises questions about the nature of belief systems that people are encouraged to base their lives upon - such as new-age faiths and mainstream Christianity. By using different fictional identities and pretending to have supernatural abilities, can he get authority figures to endorse him as the real thing?

    His reviews speak for themselves:

    "Astonishing?utterly convincing" Observer

    "Fascinating"? Sunday Times

"Essential viewing ?difficult not to be dazzled?boggles the mind" - The Times

"One thing is for sure: this man is a one-off?his new series is a highly unusual entertainment experience" Daily Telegraph

"I just want to burn him at the stake and watch his witch's heart bubble" - Stephen Fry

"Mind-blowing. His tricks are amazing..." - The Guardian

Tickets on sale NOW from the Olympia Theatre Box Office and Ticketmaster outlets nation-wide.

Tickets are 36.50, 37.50 and 38.50 from the Olympia Box Office or www.ticketmaster.ie

    I can't wait!

What did everybody think? The final thing with the newspaper word was so cool, i'm still working out some inconsistencies in his explanation though.

Like how did the girl end up on page 14? She was told to pick a headline, not a page. He didn't infuence us on the headlines, did he?

    I thought he was awful.

Some of his 'tricks' were good alright but he acted like he was either on drugs throughout or seriously nervous.

Anyone care to tell us some of the tricks?
