Bloody hell Shaun you are a mean GTR driver,
4:37 around that track is awesome.
Talk about using every inch of track.
I assume you have all aids off?
The reason i ask is you make it look so easy, that was one sensational lap.
For example my best time on oschersleiben for example [i have Nordschleife but just havent really tried it] is 1:24:32,me wonders what your pb is after looking at that amazing drive.
That looks almost alien-like if you dont mind my saying :)
For the uninitiated an alien in simracing is the very total elite hotlappers that very few can get even close to .

Gregor huttu and wolfgang woeger are two of the best known "aliens" in the GPL world.

haha, its a 437 second lap, or 7.17

yep, everything is off, except the damage, as i didnt want to drop it on turn 76 on the outlap !

I cant see where to find the aids flags within the telemetry yet, if you could point it out, that would be very usefull.

If you look at the trough of the V though, you`ll see the rear wheels spinning up at times.

Just ran a few laps of oschersleben.

about 12, enough to relearn the lines from the old gtr mod.
Best was a 1.23.7, no aids.

Im finding that the gtr car is very sensitive to ride height, especially at the front, although it tends to bounce off the packers when its very low

Just dropped the front a bit, played with the front roll bar, rear wing, and diff is opened a notch on power/coast.

Any idea how to check aids used from telemetry or replay?

Just tried the lister, since it has more downforce (from power estimate drag, estimate downforce from lift/drag) and dropped a 1.22.9

Saleen quick in high speed stuff. Much less rewarding to drive though.

I had to take medium compound rears, and even they are on the limit towards the end of the lap, it nearly gets away from me in the one before karausell, and again on the exit of the mini karausell!

Ferrari might still have the speed, due to its tyres lasting.

The lambo also has the best handling in the game, however it EATS rear tyres, much like its real life counterpart.
Managed to get the oschers time well down using it.

well fraps can do it but with the upload speed of dsl in this country it would take far too long to upload :(

btw some nice driving there shaun very fast
looked like you left half the tyre on the track when breaking on some of the turns though :P

Yep, you`ll find theres a little strip, like grasscrete on the edge of the track, the whole way round. It seems to have about 50% of the grip of the tarmac, but the gains in line more than offset the loss of grip.

Just ran an 7.11.2 in the ferrari, but had one runwide (the switchback before the bridge b4 the mini karausell, so it doesnt really count.

I discovered my rear tyres were like balloons before, so some quick pressure mods and its a lot better. And i raised 6th, as it was maxing from 1/2 way along the big straight.

New lap, just one tiny mistake!
If someone wants to make a mpeg, that would be cool, i cant do it here on 56k.

tried a lap last nite, there seems to be a wild amount of grip on the track and even off line on the grass. didn't bother spending the time to relearn braking points for the corners, spent long enough in GPL doing that. Anyways, its fun to drive in a sunday drive type of way, its always struck me as a stupid idea to race on it, its more of a rally track than a race track.

Dont think it has too much Grip.

The M3 GTR was running 8.32s in race trim at the 24 hours. That includes the new track (taking the shorter hairpin on it, and not the last turn), but without the 1st left into hairpin, and the 90* left at the start of the old track. A f1 car is doing the old track in 1.15 say, so its not too unreasonable to say a gtr car takes 1.35 or so, meaning the times, are quite reasonable, considering the amount of traffic.

This lap with Hans Jochaim Stuck is a great example of the speed and grip.
Brilliant Lap @ the 24 hours

Nordschleife - wow. I managed to get it installed, after having to install the 1.2 and 1.3 updates, and installing GTR manager.
(What a job. First I thought I was already on 1.2, so installed 1.3, then installed gtr manager. Installed the nordschleife track through gtr manager. OK I thought ... Started GTR and it failed on checking the CD. I uninstalled GTR, and re-installed it, then installed 1.2. update and 1.3 update .. checked it and it worked, then installed gtr manager, and the nordschleife track again, and.. it worked !!)

Love the track .. tried the 996 gt3rs, but kept losing the back end, so I ended up in the lambo. Got one full lap in at around 7:15 or 7:20, cant remember exactly. Not too bad I guess for a first attempt.
Thats with no driver aids, and no setup tweaking.

Fantastic track .. I just got a video clip last week of an onboard lap in a bmw m3 gtr which was fabulous. It has an inset video window of the driver from the side as well. (will post a link if anyone wants it)
<edit> this is the same m3_gtr_nurburgring... link posted above <edit>

    Cheers.
