Akai models tend to ascend chronologically. So logically, I can tell you that they certainly intended the 2000 to be better.

But, I haven't used the MPCs at all. Last hardware sampler I touched was an S2000. So I haven't a notion.

You should be able to find one on Ebay.com anyway.
