I stupidly got into the swimming pool with my contact lenses in tonight, I realised after about 1 minute but I still can't get the bloody things out, and my eyes are bloodshot to hell from me poking at them!

Anyone know the best way to get them out or should I just wait for a while longer? I obviously dont want to go to sleep with them in, that isn't going to help!!

Try putting cold water into your eyes. I've never had mine stuck but usually when I'm taking them out I will use the finger beside my thumb on my right hand, and simply press gently on the lowest part of the lens and drag downwards. This usually creates a "wrinkle" which I can then grip.

Wouldnt really recommend going to bed with them in as it will be worse in the morning.

are u sure they're still in?? no being a smartarse but that is a common problem that happens. they fall out but ppl dont realise.

if they are there put alot of saline in ur eyes. keep them closed for about 5 minutes. put more saline in and then try take them out.

    yeah, they're still there alright.
Lashing the saline in too, hopefully it might help, my eyes are sore now from all the damn poking! not making things any easier!

stop poking at them so!! just leave them alone till the irritation goes down. should take about 10 or 15 minutes. and then try get them out again. ur only making it harder. and dont forget to keep ur eyes closed for a few minutes.
