Im considering buying a Canon XM 2 and heard good reviews of it comparing it to the late XL 1

Whats anyone opinion's on my consideration, ive seen the camera on PIXMANIA for €2170 plus about €30 delievery.

Id love to get the XM1s but its pricey, or does anyone know anywhere in dublin where i could get one for less than €2700.

    Thanks,

BTW. heres the link to the camera http://www.pixmania.com/ie/uk/26913/art/canon/camcorder-xm2.html

Ill have to wait and see, i was thinking of buying it in May, so if you still have it ill consider getting it off you, (just have to save up the amount) I have €1500 at the mo but with The CC bill and not to mention my BB bill soon ill be down to €1000 but hope to save it up. Ill put you nickname on record.
BTW how do you find the XL1 to use

cool im only half selling it in that im not advertising everywhere so ill prob still have it

the xl1 is great to use its REALLY easy to pick up and use but of course its slightly more difficult to get used to all the settings but when ya mess about wit it for long enough ye get the hang of it.

and of course the picture and sound qaulity is amazing IMHO

Yeah i believe they used the Xl1 for filiming 28 days later. how are the manual controls. and can it quite heavy after a while (front heavy)

yeah thats true alright that was my original reason for buying it. figured if it was good enough for that great film its good enough for me.

depends wot u mean by manual controls they can be cumbersome (spelling?) at times. it can get very heavy but not front heavy its back heavy after about 5 minutes it get uncomfortable so ye wud wanna get a brace for it or something

yeah the camera not only acts the biz it looks it too the amount of times people have just gone HOLY **** the size of that camera.

and when im filming at gigs jaysus if someone sees it they'll hop in front of goin hi mom thinkin they'll be on the telly(has honestly happened about 10 times now) can be quite annoying especially when it ruins a good shot

yea i hate it when people start shouting when filming you have to start all over again its a pain is the rear, espesially around town where people will just stand there and then get there mobile out to try and ring home, while waving at the camera.

I just bought one a month ago on DABS.com for €2200. It's quiet good. A few annoying points though - the onboard mic is useless because it picks up motor noise (like listening to a train on playback) and handling noise - you'll have to pick up a dm-50 mic for about €150 to get over that. I have a €400 sony camcorder which picks up about a fifth of the noise this currently picks up. The second zoom control on the grip is absolutely crap ! the buttons are stiff and for that reason the zoom can be jumpy. The lcd screen seems delicate. Good points - the picture is excellent, the manual controls, and you can buy a 7 hour battery.
