True or false: Girls with large bosoms have to wear low cut tops because regular one

My ex said that. Wasn't criticising her choice of clothes, but she probably felt she had to justify her continuoous judgemental slagging off of girls in belly tops and mini skirts. Believed it at the time because I was in love and all, and talking about her boobs tended to circumvent my critical faculties. In retrospect it sounds like rubbish. So: is it true or false that a 5'4 girl with 32DD chest would HAVE to wear low cut tops because regular ones would look silly/not fit correctly?

depends, i'm a 34D and i do often have trouble getting fitted tops to fit me correctly across the chest. they can be uncomfortably tight or squash my boobs. depending on the material they can cause stretching which makes the clothes look stupid, clothes are often shaped for smaller chests. i find i cannot really wear tops with 'cups' or defined areas for the boobs because mine just dont fit in and they make it look silly. generally i stick to v necks because they just tend to fit better. i could definately imagine your ex having problems, as she is shorter than me with larger boobs, so i'd say that comment was largely justified.

Ok. Well I was hoping for some people to say "yeah she's totally full of ****!" and stuff like that so I could try to talk myself out of missing her quite so much. Will probably delete this thread in an hour or two since she still reads my posts every few days. Not till midnight at the earliest though, since she's back in amercia again boo hooooo hoooo

THere's a bit of truth to it. I'm 36D and I stick mainly to V-neck tshirts and the like as they fit better. The regular tshirt can stretch too much across the chest area. I have to forget about wearing loose tops as I'll look pregnant, and I can also forget anyof those nice camisiole tops or tops with defined "cups". They just are meant for far smaller girls.

i'm 36D and regular tops(the vest's in top shop for example) look low cut if i want them to cover my belly.

    also bigger tops look stupid,

i tend to go with v necks and also shirts(i can wear most tops under this and my belly isnt noticed sticking out from the bottum on the unfitting top)

I'm a 38D and I find that a lot of tops don't fit me as I have a broad back combined with biggish breasts. I can't wear shirts as they gape open in my size and are much to big everywear else if I wear the size up.

I've found that v-neck or scooped neck tops just fit better and I totally agree with tops that have "cups" in them...don't fit at all. Also some higher necked tops or polo necks can make you boobs look like mutants...not very flattering!

This has been an education I must say.

It must be a nightmare sometimes for women. I mean with two guys that are the same general size, waist, chest etc. A medium for the sake or argument. A medium shirt is pretty much gonna be the same on both of them.

But if they were women one could be an A cup the other could be a FF. Totally different requirements.

Adding insult to injury womens sizing is so arbitary. A 10 in one shop could be a 12 in another and vice versa. That must drive you mad.

As a bloke I go in to a shop find whatever piece of clothing in my measurements, pay my money and go. I would rarely try something on before buying and I'm a skinny bugger. No male model physique have I.

I don't know how you do it. My hat's off to ya.

Been researching this a bit by looking at what sort of tops big-boobed ladies wear.
From my observations, there does seem to be reasons to go for v-necks, lowish cuts...
But not necessarily to the extend of displaying cleavage, which really was the point in question, although I didn't quite make it clear perhaps.
Nothing wrong with displaying cleavage. But don't complain about girls in minis and belly tops if you do. Or about attention from guys for that matter.

if you wear a v-neck (not necessarily showing cleavage, just more of your neck), the boobs don't look quite as huge as they are. a bit more skin breaks it up

    speaking from 32G experience...

I remember reading about a large survey that showed that women were getting taller, broader and bigger chested. If we've changed shape maybe the cut of the clothing has not kept pace.

Are men and women just wearing larger sizes of yesteryears cuts or has the functional design actually changed?

I'm just curious as the women here seem to all have problems getting a decent fit.

I am 5ft 2in with 34DD-E chest - I find that loose tops make me look huge as I only have a size 8-10 waist. Tight fitting tops make me look smaller - V-Necks are great as they make my chest look smaller as do halternecks. I would not tend to show cleavage as I am a bit self conscious about it - maybe if I had less it would not be as bad.

I would say that the functional design has changed, I have a lot of trouble getting the "retro skinny " shirts to fit me although I do have 47" chest, My brother can wear a lot of the vintage clothes no problem, but he is alot skinnier than me.
Look at vintage clothing stores most people now won't go near some of the stuff.

I have a logical explanation. I am not a complete expert, but I am studying apparel design, and I know a little bit about this. If a woman with a large chest wears something that goes all the way up to her neck, it makes her chest look larger and lower (which usually isn't good). This happens because there is so much solid area created by the fabric. When she wears a shirt that is lower cut, the lower neckline breaks up the large chest with a section of skin and a section of fabric, thus making the chest appear to be smaller. *whew* But since you want me to tell you she's full of ****, I guess I will. We can pretend I just made all of that up if it makes you feel better. ;)

Nothing worse to look have to see than big matronly flabby cleavage. Makes a woman look like a fishwife or a Dickension Barmaid. Acc to the fashion press cleavage is a big no-no for the next few years. To be replaced by shape and perkiness. Hurrah!

Nope, they're just eating more Mars bars. Harsh but true.

Guys can have similar problems too!

    I'm 6'1", with 35/36" legs, and 31" waist.

BUT, most trousers (except jeans/slacks - which I hate) are 30"/32" and 34"leg, which means I have a **** time trying to find trousers that fit me properly.

So I don't bother. I'd rather cut my legs off than spend a day in a shopping centre.

BTW, pwd your ex sounds hawt, when's she coming home? ;)

she is home that is the problem.
She doesn't go for badly dressed skinny guys anyway.

I ahve the same problem. Generally just go with whatever pants is long enough.
So I generally end up with baggy jeans and combats, when I can find them. Most stores seem to cater for midgets. Why is the largest pair of socks commonly available 9-11? Why do all the 11+ sizes in shoes sell out first?

My problem is that I have size 7 feet but am only 5ft 2in and take an 8-10 but have a 34DD-E chest. It means that it is very difficult getting tights as they never allow for the fact that some small people have big feet...it is also hard getting a bicini as I would take an 8 in the bottoms but a 16 in the top, it means that I have to buy them separatly...argh!

I'm having difficulty visualizing the problem; if all the large breasted women here could just post pics of their chest ( with clothes and without....just for comparison ) it would help immeasurably.

I'm sure you're not alone in this. You would think it would make more sense to sell top and bottoms separately anyway given how different people are. I don't know any "average" sized women. If she even exists.

There's a business idea right there.

You can get them - it is just hard to find them...last year I spent 150 Eur on a bicini as the place where I normally get them had sold out. The tights issue is harder - I end up going through so many pairs of tights as a result.
