When i come home every evening, there are a load of missed calls from 5 numbers that i don't recognise. I have tried to ring them, but nobody ever answers:

    01-878****
    01-878****
    01-878****
    01-878****
    01-878****

/edit ok, taking the last 4 digits out, is the 878 part familar with anybody?

01-878 numbers are from the City Centre - North side, aren't they?

    Mystery solved Delly.

I had been missing calls from those numbers too & was getting no reply when I dialled the number but yesterday I answered one.

I bet you have an AIB bank account- I do.

It's a telemarketing company doing research on behalf of AIB. The calls are made from a call centre which does not accept incoming calls & once they have dialled your number they will keep ringing you until the call is answered ( I kept the girl on the call for ages questioning her-ha ha, taste of their own medicine!) so try & answer their call & stop the calls altogether!

Excellent! I do have an AIB account all right, so at least that solves the mystery.

Ring AIB and tell them you don't want your details to be passed to other companies. That should take care of it.

When they call you ask them who gave them the right to call you unsolicited?
Then ask them do they normally manage to get total strangers to talk about their finances?
Then ask to speak to their manager, give him/her a complete bollicking and basically tie up their lines for as long as possible without giving them any information whatsoever.

    Make the fúcktards pay!

    answer the phone.

    say "hold on"

    do not hang up

gently put the phone in a drawer and close it.

    check back an hour later.

repeat process if they call again

( if it's a pervert, say nothing at all but follow other instructions )
