No time to give a full 'critique' but yeah... not bad

Drop the "This page is best viewed in 800 x 600 resolution" text. There's no point in it. For one thing, it isn't best viewed in that res.-, it's best viewed in a higher res.- still get a horizontal scrollbar in 800x600. For another thing, you shouldn't really be reccommending a res. to people. If they look at it in 640x480, it won't fit and they'll know why.

    Coupl'a points:

[*]The colours in particular DO need work.
[*]Why the banner ad at the top? You're not getting paid for adverts, are you?
[*]Doesnt quite fit in 800x600 as I said, one of the main reasons being the pointless fading anim at the top right, the banner ad pushing things down and the size of your main logo. The user is forced to scroll at least one screen before seeing any actual content.

Otherwise - for a first page... fair play to ya... nice start.

I'd have more constructive stuff to say if I had time - more suggestions and criticisms... unfortunately I'm a bit pressed at the mo' so thats my 2 cents for the moment...

Sure I do... don't go with those colours!!! (black/green) Black backgrounds are evil. - besides that black is WAY over-used, especially on gaming sites.

Be different... use gray, or some deep purple or navy, ... or hell - even white. White is used by professional sites because they realise that its probably one of the easiest colour to read text against (Bright gray is actually easier).

My own suggestion would be - see how a light gray and a stark red look and experiment from there. Have a look around at the other gaming sites out there - look at what they're doing and excel beyond that by doing what they do but by making it friendlier on the eyes.

Just a suggestion mind you wink.gif
