I noticed in the supermarket that Tesco Brand says "As absorbant as the leading brand." I would have thought Bounty would be the leading brand. (Name another brand, see you can't). But Bounty packs say "Twice as absorbant as the leading brand".
So what is the leading brand? Is it Tesco Brand. Because then they're technically telling the truth, but it's misleading.

On a tangent: you can now get blue paper towels which are reuseable once! They are pretty nifty! Heh, I'm such a kitchen slave for knowing this :p

In the US, Bounty is number one and Brawny is number two. I'd have thought Bounty was the leader here or in the UK too (in the same way that Pantene suddenly went from sales of 50,000 units per annum to becoming the world's biggest shampoo after a bit of non-stop marketing) but it might be Lotus or whatever they sell as here.

Of course tesco brand is one third of the price of Bounty, so even if you use twice as much, it's still cheaper. Of course it's not good for the enviornment.

Interesting point about the circular nature of the ads... I had noticed all these claims, yet never thought about it from that angle...

What is the leading brand? Hmmm... to Tesco!
