Does anyone know how the video signal gets to laptop screens? Is there a bundle of cables in the hinge somehow or is it transmitted digitally and processed by a chip in the screen half of the case?

Also I was thinkin wouldn't it be great if Apple brought out a tablet PC like the nice Acer ones going round. I think they have pretty good handwriting recognition software in OS X for Wacom graphics tablet users? An iNote or something? How about a charcoal anodised aluminium case with an external optical drive and 12" screen

There's a really thin cable in one or both of the hinges, that sends the signal and power to the screen.

If anyone's broken one of their hinges they'll know what I mean...
